Where the Story Started
In 2017, a shared vision brought together passionate young climate advocates who believed that youth should have a stronger voice in shaping Egypt's climate future. What began as a small initiative quickly evolved into a platform for collaboration, learning, and meaningful action.
LCOY Egypt was established to create a space where students, young professionals, researchers, entrepreneurs, and emerging leaders could exchange ideas, build climate knowledge, and contribute to national and global sustainability conversations.
From its earliest days, the conference focused on empowering youth—not only to participate in discussions, but also to become active contributors to climate solutions through capacity building, networking, and policy engagement.
Although the first edition started on a modest scale, it laid the foundation for a growing movement that continues to inspire and connect young changemakers across Egypt.
